Over 67,000 visitors from 144 countries gathered at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition park from January 19-23, 2023, to spy the latest product introductions. Plucked from the aisles, here are our top picks for best newness from the Maison&Objet trade show. C’est bon!

Product Intros at Maison&Objet

Ames

Valencia-based studio MUT Design debuted their modular collection, its components meant to conjoin in order to make longer runs of seating. Dubbed Coco, the lines on the upholstered pieces were inspired by origami and are meant for both indoor or outdoor use.

Maison Matisse

An homage to the titular artist’s painting Les Mille et Une Nuits, French designer Guillaume Delvigne releases a playful side table crafted in Portugal of laser-cut and hand-finished cork and featuring a pop of color on its rim.

Noppi

The back of this comfy barrel-shaped upholstered Wraap chair by Gaël Hiétin transforms from an enveloping high enclosure to a low slung wrap by folding over the frame, thus creating a unique experience for the sitter.

FAS

Dada outdoor table tennis from Italian brand FAS was designed by Basaglia + Rota Nodari to pull apart into two square tables atop conic bases, swiftly transitioning from fun time to outdoor hangouts for up to 16 people, all perfectly palatable in poppy white and red colorways.

Ethnicraft

A forest of grounding green tones were noted throughout the fair, including Ethnicraft’s newly-launched pine green shade shown on their plush Barrow seating collection by Jacques Deneef that includes a lounge chair, two-seater sofa, and pouf and was inspired by 1950s design.

Pulpo

Design duo Sylvain Willenz imagined a 3-D study of furniture for the future, resulting in their Collage console table in aluminum with sliding elements available in travertino classico, carrara white, marquina black, or green alps marbles.

Lladró

Spanish porcelain manufacturer Lladró celebrates 70 years and launches their Mokuren LED lighting collection by Japanese design Naoto Fukasawa. Handmade flowers in translucent porcelain adorn a black lacquered aluminum frame evoking magnolia tree branches.

Fermob

A new colorway in a pleasingly neutral Lapilli Grey rounds out the hue offerings from French maker Fermob, shown here on the Facto chair.

Illulian

A collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects yields Perspective, one of two rugs examining the intersection of organic shapes with the crisp lines of the late designer’s architectural creations and crafted in cocoon silk and Himalayan wool.

ibride

Designed by Jeanne Riot, the Nocturne table lamp collection includes three designs with distinctive illuminated patterns courtesy of microperforations. A dimmer allows for light adjustment of these animalistic lamps made in France.
